Are You Organised?

As any business owner knows, great organisation is paramount.

And everywhere you look there are companies shouting that their app or system will have you organised in a jiffy.

We sign up to the next shiny object and then lose interest.  Why?  Because it’s not as good as it was advertised it to be.  Or perhaps, it’s just not the right one for you.

So you give up.  Until the next shiny object comes along.

Even worse, in an attempt to make it fit, you bolt on that second shiny object and before you know it, you’re wading through treacle.

Does that sound familiar? We’ve all done it.  I’ve done it as like most business owners, I love those shiny objects too.  I’ve lost track of how many free trials I’ve taken and have littered in my inbox.

I’ve deliberately not included calendar or CRM Apps.

Let’s have a look at some of my personal favourites.

  1. Trello: Trello is a project management tool that uses visual boards, cards, and lists to help teams track and manage tasks and projects. It also offers features such as team collaboration, file attachments, and integration with other apps.
  2. Slack: Slack is a team communication and collaboration tool that allows users to chat, share files, and work together on projects in real-time. It also offers features such as channels, direct messaging, and integration with other apps.
  3. Google Drive: Google Drive is a cloud-based file storage and sharing app that allows teams to collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in real-time. It also offers features such as version history, commenting, and integration with other apps.
  4. Click-Up:  This is probably my very favourite organisational App.  It’s intuitive and easy to use.  It doesn’t have a thousand bells and whistles that I’m never likely to use and the cost is decent.
  5. To Do:  Whilst I’m not normally a fan of Microsoft Apps, I love this one. It’s pretty basic which I like and it sits on my phone and keeps me on track.
I’m not going to muddy the waters about talking about process and integration.
That’s for another time.
